One of the most popular gifts a kid wants for their birthday, Christmas or any other occasion has to be, without a doubt, a dog. Kids love the idea of having a family pet to call their own. It’s like having a new sibling (except a little furrier) who skips the baby part and gets straight to the grown-up, playful part! Together, they can play fetch, go for walks, and get into a little bit of trouble going on exploratory adventures around the neighborhood. The escapades are endless, and the friendship bond is real!
So, when a kid’s dog goes missing, it’s absolutely devastating for the kid and the family. A search party has to come together, and everyone has to do their part to find the missing family member.
Kahne Williams is 6-years-old, from Texas, USA and adores his pup, Kase. It was Kahne who begged his parents for a dog, and when they finally relented, he was allowed to personally pick out the pup himself. The two bonded on the spot, instantly forging a friendship, rendering the two inseparable from each other. The boy went everywhere with his dog, but it was one afternoon, in the blink of an eye, when things took a turn for the worse.
During his normal morning outing into the garden, Kase just disappeared! Kahne’s parents went out to get him and let him in, but the dog wasn’t to be found, and no one had any idea of where he could have gone. Then, a week later, a storm hit the city and Kase was still missing. A blizzard that left 20 inches of snow on the ground, came and went, and still no sign of the dog. The family worried about their beloved pet’s well-being because this was a particularly bad storm. There was no way he could have survived unless someone took him in to keep him warm and fed.
What the Williams’ later found out was that Kase was in fact rescued from the blizzard outside. A family in the neighborhood came across the estranged pup and brought him in from the harsh conditions outside. The family’s two little girls took care of him and made sure he was looked after. It was this act of kindness that saved his life.
Finally, eight months after the day Kase went missing, Paula Williams, Kahne’s’ mom, made a startling discovery. It was when she was driving and got stuck behind a school bus that the mystery of Kase’s disappearance began to unravel. As she stopped behind the signaling school bus, two girls ran out the front door only to be greeted by a happy looking dog who excitedly ran up to welcome them home–and that dog was Kase! Paula was elated. Finally, her pup was found.
Paula spoke to the family, thanked them for their kindness and took the dog home with her to bring back to her son. This video is the reunion after eight months apart between the boy and his pup. Prepare for waterworks.
