Minutes after giving birth to her daughter following a 47-hour labour, a first-time mother discovers she is expecting twins.
Nicole, 31, and Matthew Ziesemer, 34, of Grand Haven, Michigan, had just met their daughter Blakeley when physicians determined that Nicole was still in labour.

Nicole, a new mother from Grand Haven, Michigan, who chose a natural pregnancy without scans, had no indication she was expecting twins. Nicole and Mathew’s decision to have a natural pregnancy meant no ultrasounds, scans, or home birth, which they were unable to carry out because she went into labour prematurely.
Throughout her pregnancy, Nicole experienced severe morning sickness, so she decided to forsake s in favour of breathing exercises, a yoga ball, and cool showers. She had no examinations during her pregnancy, with the exception of one on the day she gave birth.

Nicole intended to give birth at home with only a midwife present, but was forced to go to the nearest hospital, Gerber Memorial in Michigan, when her waters broke at 36 weeks. After more than 45 hours of labour, the expecting mother requested an u, which, along with a suction device, assisted in the delivery of her daughter at 10:06 p.m. on December 30, 2017, weighing 4 pounds, four ounces. Nicole and Matthew Ziesemer were eager to become first-time parents and had prepared for the advent of an unborn child of unknown gender.

When physicians attempted to suture Nicole, 31, up st-t, they discovered that she was still in labour. Doctors grew concerned when Nicole’s postpartum pain did not subside, despite the fact that she had just given birth. Nicole’s vagina was to be sutured, but they realised there was something else in there and ordered an emergency ultrasound, which verified their suspicions that there was another baby inside. 59 minutes later, Nicole gave birth to a newborn boy weighing 5 pounds.
